SUMMARY:Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month
DESCRIPTION:When a woman is diagnosed at the earliest stage\, her chance of surviving ovarian cancer for five years or more doubles from just 46 per cent to more than 90 per cent. \nHowever\, nearly half of GPs mistakenly believe symptoms only present in the later stages of the disease\, and less than a third of women in the UK are confident they know the symptoms. \nThis year\, tens of thousands of symptoms leaflets were read\, thousands of cakes were baked\, hundreds of outlandish outfits worn and more teapots brewed than we could count all with one aim in mind to get more women diagnosed at the earliest stage. Your fundraising means we will be able to do more to improve early diagnosis\, fund more life-saving research and provide much-needed support. \nhttps://www.targetovariancancer.org.uk/tags/ovarian-cancer-awareness-month

SUMMARY:Walk All Over Cancer
DESCRIPTION:Walk All Over Cancer is a fundraising and activity challenge that occurs annually every March in aid of the charity Cancer Research UK. Participants are challenged to a sponsored walk of 10\,000 steps every day during the month\, and all proceeds from the fundraising are donated to the charity. \nCancer Research UK funds research into cancer treatment and prevention across the world\, working to develop new cancer drugs and provide the latest cancer information about cancer treatment and prevention to both health professionals and the public. \nParticipants can share details of their progress using the hashtag #walkallovercancer and walks can be either solo or walkers can challenge their friends and family to join them\, or even take part with local walking groups. The NHS recommends 10\,000 steps per day for optimum health\, however with increasingly sedentary lives\, many people do not reach this amount\, and so the challenge is an opportunity to improve your own health as well as raise money for a good cause. By taking 10\,000 steps per day\, walkers will achieve 150 miles by the end of the month. \nAnybody interested in getting involved in Walk All Over Cancer will find further resources including free printable materials and information on fundraising and tracking steps at www.cancerresearchuk.org.

SUMMARY:Endometriosis Awareness Month
DESCRIPTION:Every March Endometriosis Month takes place across the world\, with the aim of increasing awareness and highlighting the symptoms of this debilitating condition that affects an estimated 176 million women worldwide. \nEndometriosis can have a devastating effect on the quality of life of sufferers of this condition due to the painful symptoms that the disease carries and the fact that it is the biggest cause of infertility in women. Although this is a condition that affects 1 in 10 women\, the average diagnosis can take up to 7 and a half years\, and with this unacceptably long diagnosis time\, the main focus of the event is to raise awareness of the symptoms of Endometriosis with the goal being more women receiving diagnosis and treatment earlier. \nFind out more about the symptoms of Endometriosis here. You can also get involved in the chat on twitter using the hashtag #EndometriosisAwarenessMonth
